A local business, built on reputation
J&J has spent nearly three decades building a reputation for heritage work done properly. Much of what we do is Victorian-era restoration, the exacting work that only experience gets right. The same standards, the same direct phone number, the same commitment to doing the job properly the first time.
We specialise in heritage and traditional rendering and plastering right across Sydney, from a single rendered wall to a full period facade. Pete and Alex work alongside the major heritage building firms, including Carfax, Gartner Rose, Murphys Building Group, Australian Heritage Restorations and RKJ Building.
Both are RISI-licensed for railway work, and our projects span landmark public buildings, heritage-listed homes and rail stations across the state. Over the years our work has been covered by the Sydney Morning Herald, Domain, the Sun-Herald and Who Weekly, including a story on the plasterer who gave a film star his perfectly straight lines.
We work with homeowners, property managers, builders and commercial clients across Sydney. If you need it done properly, call 0414 821 777.

Meet the team
Joe and Justina started J&J Traditional Rendering & Plastering in 1997. When Joe had finished mastering the trade, he handed it down to his apprentice, Pete Bamford. Pete has continued the tradition and the business after Joe, and the traditional methods and skills of this ancient craft live on in the team.
Pete Bamford
Owner & master plasterer
Pete started his solid plastering apprenticeship in 2001 with J&J and mastered set plastering, in-situ moulds, cement rendering, plasterboard fixing and tapping, and acrylic texture coating.
With over two decades in the trade, Pete has built a reputation for high-quality craftsmanship and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.
Alex
Heritage plasterer
Alex works alongside Pete on J&J's heritage projects, from landmark public buildings to period homes. Like Pete, Alex is RISI-licensed for railway work and brings the specialist skill that exacting heritage restoration demands.
Jonelle Martin
Accounts & administration
Jonelle has been with J&J for more than five years, supporting Pete from the office. Her background is in accounts and administration, with a keen interest in the building and construction industry, so if there is anything you need, give her a shout through the contact form. She is more than happy to help.
